The SAC Information Team reported that the KNDF and PDF, unable to withstand the military’s offensive, set fire to the homes of innocent civilians in Phaya Taung Village, Nyaung Shwe Township, Shan State (South), before fleeing the scene.
This incident occurred on the evening of June 3, when security forces and local militia were conducting essential operations in Nyaung Shwe Township. They encountered the KNDF and PDF near Phaya Taung Village. Unable to withstand the return fire from the security forces, the militants burned down the homes of innocent villagers and retreated southward, allowing them to escape freely. Security forces are continuing their necessary operations in the area following this retreat.
Local security forces are reportedly conducting essential security operations in collaboration with residents and local militia to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the arson and destruction of innocent villagers’ homes in the aforementioned incident.
