The Myanmar delegation led by Defence Minister Lieutenant General Tun Aung visited Minsk, Belarus, from May 25 to 30 at the invitation of the Belarusian side to discuss and advance military cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries.
During the visit, General Tun Aung held talks with Belarusian Defence Minister Lieutenant General Viktar Ganediavich Khrenin.
At the beginning of the visit, Lieutenant General Khrenin welcomed the Myanmar delegation with a guard of honor at the Central House of Officers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. The two defence ministers then discussed matters relating to Myanmar–Belarus defence cooperation.
Subsequently, the two ministers visited the Victory Square Obelisk Monument, where they laid wreaths and paid their respects. In the evening, they attended an official dinner hosted by the Belarusian Defence Minister.
The Union Minister also met with a delegation led by Mr. Dmitry Pantus, Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus, at the authority’s headquarters. During the meeting, they discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, the Myanmar delegation visited military technology factories, workshops, and textile manufacturing facilities in Belarus. They also visited the Myanmar Embassy in Minsk, where the Union Minister met and greeted embassy staff, their family members, and trainees.
