The KNU/KNLA and PDF groups, which have a history of blowing up roads and bridges that people use for travel and work—asserting that these are military supply routes—have once again destroyed an 80-foot reinforced concrete bridge (No. 3/17) on the Bilin-Natgyi road in Bilin Township.
In the incident, the NKU/KNLA and PDF groups detonated a mine on a reinforced concrete bridge measuring 80 feet long and 24 feet wide. This bridge is located between mileposts 16/2 and 3 on the Bilin-Natgyi highway, approximately 300 meters west of Tanyinpin village in Bilin Township, Mon State. The event occurred yesterday morning.
The concrete bridge on the south bank collapsed due to a mine explosion, blocking the passage for people and vehicles. Officials are working to repair the damaged bridge as quickly as possible.
The explosion has caused significant inconvenience to the public, preventing hospital vehicles, school buses, and commercial traffic from passing through. In response, security forces are intensifying their operations to address the situation and ensure that those responsible for detonating the mine are held accountable, all while maintaining peace and stability in the area.
