At the Thai-Myanmar border in Myawaddy’s Shwe Kokko Town, the Karen Border Guard Force (BGF) of Myanmar repatriated 61 foreign nationals who had been suspected of being victims of human trafficking and scam operations in Myanmar on Thursday, February 6.
Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister received the 61 individuals. Authorities will now take responsibility for repatriating them to their respective home countries.
The rescued individuals included 39 Chinese nationals, 13 Indians, five Indonesians and one each from Ethiopia, Pakistan, Malaysia and Kazakhstan.
