Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo received a delegation led by Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi at the Zeyasiri Viman Guest Hall in Nay Pyi Taw this evening.
The meeting included Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services (Navy) General Htein Win, Coordinating Commander (Army, Navy, Air) Lt. Gen. Ko Ko Oo, senior officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, and members of the Indian delegation, which included H.E. Mr. Abhay Thakur, Indian Ambassador to Myanmar; Colonel Jaswinder Singh Gill, Indian Army Attaché to Myanmar; Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey, Indian Naval Attaché to Myanmar; and other officials.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to further enhance friendly relations and cooperation between their countries and militaries. They highlighted the strong ties established through reciprocal visits by leaders of both nations and their military counterparts. Topics of discussion included high-level goodwill visits between the two militaries, cultural and sports team exchanges, maritime trade, trainee exchanges, and cooperation in military exercises to strengthen naval capabilities. Additionally, they addressed the enhancement of security and stability in border areas, joint activities in those regions, and the conditions necessary for completing fair and dignified elections in Myanmar. They reiterated the importance of continuing the five principles of peaceful coexistence with neighboring countries and balanced development of regional interests as representatives of the people, and they exchanged souvenirs.
