Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the Acting President of Myanmar and Chairman of SSPC, delivered a video message during the International Anti-Corruption Day ceremony held yesterday. In his message, he stated that anyone who engages in corruption, deviating from the goals set by the state, will be held accountable under the law, regardless of their race or gender.
The Acting President emphasized that a clean government and effective governance systems are essential for building a well-disciplined and democratic state. He noted that good governance requires integrity and that corruption poses a significant barrier to achieving effective governance.
“Only by establishing a corruption-free governance system can the country thrive in all aspects, leading to a fair and prosperous social life for the people,” the Acting President stated.
The National Defense and Security Council is committed to achieving the goal of successfully implementing the multi-party democratic general election process and establishing a multi-party democratic system that reflects the will of the people.
To create a union based on democracy and federalism, the acting president has urged all parties to engage in the process to ensure that free and fair elections are held. He emphasized the importance of guaranteeing that everyone eligible to vote can exercise their right. Additionally, he called for the elections to be conducted within the designated timeframe.
“I urge all officials and the public to work together to ensure that the election process is free from corruption and is impartial, fair, dignified, and devoid of irregularities and illegal activities that often arise during elections,” the Acting President concluded.
