According to Pakistani media reports, these agreements were reached at a meeting in Islamabad between Syed Usman Tahir, Honorary Advisor to the Minister of National Heritage and Culture of Pakistan, and Myanmar Ambassador U Wunna Han.
During the meeting, Syed Usman Tahir briefed the Ambassador on Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and landmarks. Ambassador U Wunna Han emphasized the potential for future joint initiatives to deepen bilateral cultural ties.
The Gandhara Civilization was an ancient state and culture that flourished from approximately 500 BCE to 900 CE in what is now northwestern Pakistan and eastern Afghanistan, centered in the Peshawar and Kabul valleys. It is known for its Buddhist art, which combined local craftsmanship with Western influences, particularly in its realistic depictions of Buddha.
