At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing will undertake a state visit to China from June 15 to 19. He departed from Nay Pyi Taw International Airport for Beijing on the morning of June 15.
The high-level Myanmar delegation led by President U Min Aung Hlaing was seen off at the airport by Vice President U Nyo Saw, Vice President Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Khin Yi, Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw U Aung Lin Dwe, Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, the Commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command, and officials from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese Defence Attaché Office in Myanmar.
President U Min Aung Hlaing is accompanied on the visit by Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Tin Maung Swe, Dr. Kan Zaw, U Ko Ko Lwin, Dr. Charlie Than and U Htun Ohn, as well as the Chief Minister of Kachin State U Khet Htein Nan, the Chief Minister of Shan State U Sai Htein Soe, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, deputy ministers and other officials.
During the visit, which is being undertaken at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President U Min Aung Hlaing is scheduled to hold meetings with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang and Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China.
The President will also attend economic-related meetings and discussions focusing on bilateral friendship and cooperation, trade and investment promotion, and technical assistance between the two countries.
In addition, discussions are expected to focus on expanding Chinese investment in Myanmar and supporting the country’s socio-economic development. China remains one of Myanmar’s leading foreign investors and ranked among the top ten sources of foreign direct investment in the 2025–2026 fiscal year, with approved investments totaling US$201.129 million.
As national development depends on peace and stability, both sides are also expected to exchange views on issues related to domestic peace, stability and security, including matters concerning border areas.
