Today, September (9), ccording to morning measurements, the Sittaung River water level in Taungoo Township is about half a foot above the danger mark and may rise by another (3) inches in the next (1) day, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has announced.
Therefore, residents living near the riverbank and in low-lying areas in Taungoo Township are advised to be careful and to avoid the river in time if the water level rises.
The Sittaung River water level in Taungoo Township was above the danger mark until last (4) September, but returned below the danger mark from (5) September to (8) September, and then exceeded the danger mark again today.
