The Yadanarbon Market in Mandalay, which was temporarily closed due to the Mandalay earthquake, will reopen as usual on September 15, the market management board said.
The market is located at the corner of 78th and 34th streets in Mandalay. The market was temporarily closed due to damage to the doors, brick walls, toilets, pillars and beams in the market due to the earthquake, and the Mandalay City Development Committee has conducted a review and repair.
Now that the repair has been completed, the market vendors are cleaning and renovating their shops. The market will reopen as usual on September 15, the Yadanarbon Market Management Board announced.
Yadanarbon Market is the second largest market in Mandalay after the Cho Daw Market, and was rebuilt in 2009 after a fire in 2008.
