The Myanmar Police Force has sentenced two Chinese nationals to life in prison for human trafficking after they filmed and broadcast sex videos of young couples in Thingangyun Township, Yangon Region, exploiting them for financial gain.
The incident began when Mg ——–, 26, and his girlfriend, Ma——-, 18, from Thingangyun Township, sought help from their friend Ma Yuwady, who wanted to work. Ma Yuwady agreed to assist them. Upon arriving at the Nawaday residence in Hlaingthaya (Eastern) Township, they found Ma Yuwady and her husband, Zin Min Oo, along with Chinese translator Ye Yint Oo, Chinese director Arjal, supervisor Lin Te, and sex video cameraman Wang Xiaofeng at the home. The three couples were allegedly coerced into working as sex video cameramen. The women were reportedly paid between 1.1 million and 1.6 million kyats per month for their services, and it was revealed that they had filmed three sex videos, which were broadcast live on the Chi Htaik application. The individuals involved had exploited the victims for financial gain by filming and broadcasting these videos.
Consequently, Ma Yuwady, her husband Zin Min Oo, translator Ye Yint Oo, and Chinese nationals A Jie (who escaped), Lin Te, and Wang Xiaofeng were charged under Section 38(a)(b) of the Human Trafficking Prevention and Suppression Act by the Hlaingthaya (East) City Police Station (P) 325/2025. On July 29, the Court Martial (38) and the President of the Court Martial sentenced the five defendants to life imprisonment under the same section of the Human Trafficking Prevention and Suppression Act.
