Russian experts will visit and conduct measurements of buildings damaged by the Mandalay earthquake, said H.E. Mr. Iskander Azizov, the Russian Ambassador to Myanmar.
The Russian delegation will join international organizations that are conducting surveys of buildings damaged by the earthquake in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay and Sagaing.
Russian scientists will also inspect the damage to internationally recognized ancient heritage buildings in Myanmar. The Russian ambassador said that they will inspect the condition of some ancient heritage buildings and pagodas, especially the Shwedagon and Sule Pagoda in Yangon.
The Mandalay earthquake on March 28 killed more than 3,000 people and destroyed pagodas, pagodas, religious buildings and residential buildings. International organizations, including Russia, have been assisting in search and rescue efforts and continue to donate humanitarian aid.
