According to organizers, a merit-sharing one-month memorial ceremony will be held for the victims of the Mandalay earthquake.
This ceremony will be held at the Sitagu Samvejaniya Dhamma Hall in Sagaing on 28 April, with prominent monks including Sitagu Sayadaw, Moe Kaung Sayadaw (Hinthada), Myazedi Sayadaw (Mawlamyine), Myakyauk Sayadaw (Yankintaung), the Rector of Mandalay Sangha University, Myanan Sayadaw, Hitadhara Sayadaw, Shwesanpin Sayaw, and Shwesannwe Sayaw will participate.
It is encouraged that Myanmar nationals hold memorial and prayer ceremonies in their convenient places alongside the Venerable Sayadaws to commemorate those who died in the earthquake.
