According to the tip-off, at 19:30 P.M. on 6 March 2025, a combined team of Drug Enforcement Division searched a warehouse at No.546/547 on Sinphyushin street, 144 Ward in Dagon Myothit (South) Township in Yangon region and arrested 5 suspects; Than Lwin , Waiyar Aung (aka) Thar Gyi, Thant Kaung Sat (aka) Paund Shain, Ye Yint Naing, Hla Than Oo (aka) Yar Kutt along with 1.2 tons of ICE (Methamphetamine), a TOYOTA HILUX vehicle, a TOYOTA LAND CRUISER vehicle and a MERCEDES BENZ. Under the interrogation, it was revealed that the seized drugs were being trafficked by Than Lwin in order to the plan of Tin Maung Win who lived in Pansan Town of Wa Self Administrative Region and then, such drugs were being distributed by Hein Si Thu (aka) Zaw Zaw Aung (aka) Aung Ko Ko (aka) Htin Lin Pyae within Yangon region. The distributors were arrested on Shukhinthar Street in Tharkayta Township and the distributor of phychotropic substances, Tin Hla (aka) Sa Thit was arrested in 104 Ward in Dagon Myothit (South) Township.
According to the follow-up investigation, on 21:30 p.m. on 6 March 2025, Kyaw Kyaw Thein (aka) Kyaw Kyaw (aka) A Thay Lay was arrested along with 1.265 tons of ICE (Methamphetamine) and 200 kg of Ketamine on his vehicle at Thudamma Street in North Oakkalarpa Township. Under the interrogation, it was uncovered that the coordinators for drug trafficking to Malaysia sea territory were Ye Win (aka) Kyaw Soe Lin who was an in-change of AA business and his wife Ma Thidar Myint who was an owner of SHWE KAUNG THAR vessel. Min Min Soe who was a receiver of drugs in Yangon and shipped to Malaysia Sea by SHWE KAUNG THAR vessel was arrested at Loilem Township. He confessed that he shipped drugs to Malaysia Sea by SHWE KAUNG THAR vessel in February 2023. The conspiracy of drug transportation to Malaysia sea Myo Min Soe (aka) Ko Myo was arrested in Northkalarpa Township along with CELSIOR vehicle and 1 ton of ICE (methamphetamine) from his house at Dagon Myothit (North) Township. The conspiracies of drug transportation to Malaysia Sea were Kyaw Wai Tun, Thein Tun (aka) Thant Zin, Yan Shin Aung and Zaw Zaw Aung were arrested along with SHWE KAUNG THAR vessel in Seikkyi Khanaungto Township and 3.465 tons of ICE (Methamphetamine) and 200 kg of Ketamine worth 96.625 billion kyats.
Moreover, AA business in-charge Ye Win (aka) Kyaw Soe Lin and his wife Ma Thida Myint have been operating their business with 16 Express vehicles in Taunggyi, Mandalay and Yangon. Legal actions have been taken against the suspects. CCDAC hereby inform that necessary legal actions are being taken to seize their financial proceeds and assets derived from the illicit narcotic drugs smuggling under the Anti-Money Laundering Law to ensure they are confiscated for public benefits.
