Initial reports indicate that at least four people were killed and many more injured in an airstrike this morning on a quarry in Mogok, where the TNLA has seized territory and is seeking funding for its war.
The TNLA has just confirmed that it launched an airstrike at 1 am today on the Win Tharang quarry in Mogok Township, Mandalay Region, where the TNLA has seized control of the area under its 2nd Brigade. The attack involved seven times with Y-12 aircraft dropping more than 20 bombs, killing four people and injuring about 20 others, according to TNLA-controlled media and some media outlets supporting the group.
The TNLA militants, who are seeking money to continue their war, attacked a quarry, so the TNLA did not release any pictures or reports of casualties but said it would release the extent of the damage later.
The government has been warning the public since early September last year not to be near terrorist groups using them as human shields as it is preparing to respond to the MNDAA, TNLA, AA, and PDF, which have seized over 90 towns since the two 1027 operations. State-run media outlets have been warning the public daily but have ignored these warnings. As a result, in addition to armed groups, some people who are used as human shields by terrorist groups have also been killed, and terrorist groups have falsely reported that even when armed groups are killed, civilians have been killed.
