According to residents, electricity has been restored to normal in some townships in Yangon Region. From the end of last year, electricity was provided for (8) hours per day, but from January 2025, it will be provided for (4) hours followed by (8) hours of outages per day.
Now, the 230kV Shwe Li-Man San line has been repaired, so electricity is back to normal with a (4) hour and (4) hour outage system.
The Ministry of Electricity announced that the maximum electricity generation capacity at the end of 2024 was above (2,000) megawatts per day, but at the beginning of 2025, the maximum electricity generation capacity has fallen below (2,000) megawatts per day.
Some (12) of these hydroelectric and thermal power plants are currently experiencing a decline in power generation due to damage to power lines and natural disasters.
