Myanmar government were invited to attend ASEAN-New Zealand summit despite criticism

The New Zealand government has invited Myanmar government officials to attend the ASEAN-New Zealand summit to be held in Wellington this month. New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has confirmed that it has invited senior Myanmar officials have been invited to the summit between New Zealand and Association of Southeast Asian Nations countries, taking place in Wellington in April. It is reported that after the power disputes in Myanmar in 2021, New Zealand criticized the SAC government and imposed sanctions.
