A commemorative ceremony of the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee of Pa-O National Day was celebrated at the Pa-O National Comprehensive Development ground in Kangyi ward of Taunggyi on 24th March. At the ceremony, the flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Pa-O national flag were raised and saluted, and paid tribute to the fallen martyrs.
Pa-O national leader Phyartansinpha Aung Hkam Hti gave an opening speech and Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung also gave a speech. At the speech said that the Pa-O ethnic people mostly live in Shan State (South) and are honest, upright and open, and they have special devotion to religion.
Since successive governments have placed special emphasis on the Pa-O ethnic group, the state government will continue to cooperate with local ethnics to fulfill their wishes and desires.
Furthermore, the Pa-O region’s people should cooperate to maintain peace, stability and security of the region.
