The Thuwunnabhumi Laterite Cultural Museum has opened within the Kyaikhtisaung Pagoda precinct

Nun Daw Kundala, the Secretary of the Kyaikhtisaung Pagoda Museum Management Committee, announced the opening of the Thuwunnabhumi Laterite Cultural Museum. The museum is located at the precinct of Kyaikhtisaung Pagoda located in Zokthok Smart Village, Bilin Township, Mon State.

When the Kyaikhtisaung Sayadaw lived in the area, he found ornamental items made of laterite. These items are on display at the museum. Among the items showcased are ancient umbrellas, thrones, statues, and reliefs crafted from laterite. Additionally, there are ancient Buddha statues made of Premna Pyramidata, as well as various other laterite artefacts on display.

Except Monday and Tuesday, the Thuwunnabhumi Laterite Cultural Museum is open from 8 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm daily. There is no charge for visitors to the museum.
