Thailand’s Thon Buri Healthcare Public Company Limited (THG) will expand and open a hospital in Myanmar

16 February 2024

Thailand’s Thon Buri Health Care Public Company Limited (THG) is planning to open more hospitals in Myanmar due to the increasing number of people receiving medical treatment in Myanmar.
THG is conducting a study on new investments, and the findings will be released soon, said CEO Tanatit Satpradit. Currently, THG has opened a 97-bed hospital in Yangon, but new investments have been delayed after the Myanmar Tatmadaw temporarily maintained power due to election fraud.

THG is planning to expand hospital beds and will also provide new treatment and care services to patients. Dr. Tanatit said that he believes there is potential for improvement in the healthcare sector in Myanmar, but there is a shortage of health workers. THG said in 2023 that it has earmarked five billion baht for its new investment projects.
THG already owns 10 hospitals in Thailand with a total of 1,520 patient beds.
