The Ministry of Transport and Communications has issued a notification for SIM card sellers to sell systematically registered SIM cards and for SIM card holders to buy and use the SIM cards after registering to ensure safe and secure of users.
The order was issued on 25 September under the telecommunication law.
The notification stated instructions that mobile operators must follow in selling the SIM cards to avoid and explore money frauds in connection with mobile banking services and e-commerce.
But, it was found that SIM Cards still to be systematically registered has been sold at SIM card sales centers, point of sale of mobile operators, mobile sales centers, vendors, markets and online.
Therefore, the users should fill in the correct data when they buy SIM cards and check whether the currently used SIM cards are registered correctly. If they fail to follow the instructions, action will be taken against them under the 72 telecommunication law, the notification stated.
