Myanmar U-24 team receives cash awards

State Administration Council Chairman, Myanmar Football Federation and owners of Myanmar National League Club presented cash awards to Myanmar U-24 male soccer team which advanced to the last 16 teams from the third place at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

SAC awarded US$-5000 and Myanmar Football Federation and owners of Myanmar National League Club Ks-50 million to U-24 team.

In Group-A, Myanmar U-24 team are included together with China, India and Bangladesh and played to 1-0 win, 1-1 draw and 0-4 loss, allowing to advance to the last 16 teams.

In Asian Games’ football history, Myanmar National team won championships for two times in 1966 and 1970. Myanmar Team can’t advance from Group match since 1974.

This was the first time since the Myanmar U 24 male soccer team won the the second place in its quarter-finals and it was the first time the team has done so since 1974, when 16 teams were participated for the first time.

Myanmar U-24 will play with Japanese team which is a strong team of Asia on 28 September.
