This was the first time since the Myanmar U 24 male soccer team won the the third place in its quarter-finals and it was the first time the team has done so since 1974, when 16 teams were participated for the first time.
Myanmar football team played with Indian team at Asia Games 2023 today and faced 0-1 loss to team India with a penalty goal at 23 minutes of first half.
At 74 minutes of second half, Myanmar player Kyaw Htwe scored a goal, securing third place.
Myanmar team beat Bangladeshi team 1-0 in Group-A in which China, India and Bangladesh are included. Although Myanmar team faced 4-0 defeat by China, it secured 1-1 to India.
Myanmar team has participated in 16 teams for the first time during 49 years and it is also the first time for India to return to 16 teams during 13 years.
