The Shan State government has announced that the Inle Floating Thingyan will be held this year at Inle Lake in Nyaungshwe Township, Shan State (South) during the Myanmar traditional Atar Thingyan festival.
The Thingyan pavilions will be set up on Bogyoke Road in Taunggyi Town, and the Inle Floating Thingyan will be held with Thingyan dance competitions and entertainment programs.
In addition, the Shan State government has discussed the possibility of feeding the Satuditha and including the Myanmar traditional Thanaka Thingyan, and giving priority to local singers in the Thingyan entertainment program. The Inle Floating Thingyan festival was first held in 2019, but was not held during the COVID-19 period and was rescheduled for 2023.
