According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, a man and a schoolgirl were killed, and 11 people—including the teacher, students, and other civilians—were injured when KNU terrorist groups fired heavy weapons at the house of a female teacher in Phar Paung Village, Hpa-an Township, Kayin State.
When 29-year-old Daw Moe Sanda Htwe, a primary school teacher from Phar Paung Basic Education Primary School, was teaching students at her home, KNU terrorists fired heavy weapons into the village at around 6 p.m. on October 20. Two shells landed and exploded near her residence.
As a result of the explosions, 37-year-old U Ta Tu and 12-year-old schoolgirl Ma Naw Wah Wah Bae, who were inside the teacher’s house, died at the scene.
