National culture is a heritage that must be preserved as long as the country’s ethnic groups exist. The higher the national culture, the greater the status of both the country and its people. This was emphasized by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Acting President and SSPC Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, during the 26th Traditional Myanmar Cultural Performing Arts Competitions Award Ceremony held yesterday.
He stated that national culture is essential for maintaining our identity, intrinsic value, and status, which can only be fully expressed through our cultural heritage. A strong national culture enables a country and its people to stand tall on the world stage.

Every country must shape and develop its national culture by preserving and promoting its unique characteristics, high-level cultural achievements, profound customs and ideas, and social ethics, stated the Acting President.
The Acting President emphasized that the people of Myanmar possess distinct national characteristics, rich cultural traditions, and valuable customs that have thrived throughout history.
We must strive to preserve and promote these admirable traditions and heritages from the past, while integrating them with the opportunities of the present to create a strong foundation and legacy for future generations, said the Acting President.
In the 26th Traditional Myanmar Cultural Performing Arts Competitions, 1,672 contestants from various regions and states participated, and Yangon Region won the most medals with 59 medals.
