Military equipment, ammunition, and rocket launchers that were illegally transported across the border to Myanmar were seized today in Mae Sot, Thailand.
On October 2, 2025, the Patrol Unit (1) of the Ratchamanu Special Force, part of the Naresuan Division, worked in cooperation with the Tak Provincial Police Special Operations Group, the Tak Police Command, and Mae Sot Customs to conduct an inspection at the Bang Hoi Yau Security Checkpoint on the Tak-Mae Sot Asian Road.
During the inspection, a silver Mitsubishi Pajero was searched, and two suspects were apprehended. The driver is from Bang Krai Township in Nonthaburi Province, while the passenger is from Bangkok.

Officers searched a vehicle and discovered a large quantity of military equipment. The seized items included numerous 81 mm mortars and 81 mm ammunition packed in four blue bags, as well as four 40 mm RPG-7 rockets. Additionally, a bag of rocket powder and a significant amount of 5.56 mm ammunition were found in a cloth bag.
The Thai security team detained and interrogated two men, checking the lot numbers of the ammunition, documenting the evidence, and counting the quantities. Initial interrogations revealed that the men were planning to deliver the items to a shopping mall in Mae Sot Township, Tak Province. They communicated via the Line app and mentioned they would receive a fee of 10,000 baht. It is believed the weapons were intended to be transported across the border to be sold in neighboring Myanmar. Investigations are ongoing to identify and prosecute both the arrested individuals and those who ordered the transportation.
This year, Thailand has been focusing on arresting individuals smuggling weapons from the Karen and Kayah rebels in Myanmar to local insurgent groups. In late July, Thai authorities arrested the TigerArms arms smuggling gang, which was involved in smuggling weapons to the Myanmar side.
