During a coordination meeting of the State Security and Peace Commission and the Union Government yesterday, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, urged the relevant Prime Ministers to take the lead in ensuring the success of the upcoming election. He emphasized the need for effective measures against those who attempt to sabotage the electoral process.
He stated that the election, scheduled for December 28, must be conducted with dignity, ensuring it is both free and fair. Furthermore, he asserted that the parliament resulting from this election should also uphold a sense of dignity.
The acting president emphasized that security officials must prioritize the safety of elected representatives during their campaigns, ensuring they can operate effectively. He also stated that decisive action should be taken against anyone attempting to sabotage the election to ensure its success.
Furthermore, the acting president expressed the importance of having elected representatives who are genuinely committed to serving the country, implementing a democratic system, and upholding their responsibilities.
He urged relevant prime ministers to take a leadership role in guaranteeing a successful election and ensuring that individuals dedicated to the country’s betterment are elected.
