Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, met with Chinese President Xi Jinping to confirm their political and international recognition, as well as electoral assistance. This information was provided by the head of the press team, Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Htun.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the Myanmar delegation departed from Tianjin for Beijing this morning local time. They are attending a military parade to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War in Beijing, China. Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun shared this update with the media while on the express train.

“During our meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, we discussed several key points regarding the benefits for Myanmar. The primary benefit is political and international recognition. Additionally, we received confirmation that China will recognize the upcoming general election in Myanmar and will assist in this process. Another important aspect is the stability and peace within Myanmar. We were assured that China will continue to support our development needs. Overall, our discussions yielded commitments from China to assist Myanmar in various areas, particularly regarding our development goals,” said Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun.
During the meeting with India’s Prime Minister, Myanmar’s powerful neighbor, India reaffirmed its continued support and provided political assurances for Myanmar. Additionally, during the meeting with the President of Laos, the topic of electricity was discussed.

“We had the opportunity to meet with the Prime Minister of our powerful neighbor, India, Mr. Modi. During this meeting, we discussed India’s ongoing support for Myanmar and the political guarantees that will enable us to work towards fair elections. Additionally, we held a separate discussion with the President of Laos, where we thoroughly examined issues related to the electricity sector, cross-border collaboration, and labor sectors, among others. Furthermore, while attending the SCO meeting, we were able to engage in discussions with various leaders, including the Prime Minister of Malaysia, in the conference hall,” said Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun.
