On July 8, a young woman was found abandoned with stab wounds near PyawBwe in the Meiktila District of the Mandalay Region. Concerned citizens alerted the authorities, who rescued her alive. She is currently being transferred to Mandalay General Hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. that day when the woman was discovered injured near a stream under a bridge on the Yangon side of Pyaw Bwe. After receiving the report, authorities promptly arranged for her transfer to Pyaw Bwe Hospital for medical assistance, as she was still alive when they arrived.
A representative from a Meiktila-based social assistance organization, which responded to the scene, stated, “The girl appeared to have been attacked; she had severe injuries. I cannot confirm when or where this occurred, and the police haven’t yet been able to interview the victim. The injuries are extensive; she was struck in the back and cannot move. It seems she may have been hit on the top of her head, and her left eye is badly damaged.” MT News communicated with the organization for further details.
A young woman, who works as a manager at a distillery in Nandhukone Ward, Meiktila, was recently a victim of robbery. Her family members report that she lost a Thai Wave motorcycle, a ring, and a wallet during the incident.
Details about the circumstances of the robbery remain unclear, as the victim has not yet regained consciousness. It has not been established whether she was left at the location where the theft occurred, nor is it confirmed when or where the incident took place. She was initially transferred from PyawBwe Hospital to Meiktila Hospital and subsequently moved to Mandalay General Hospital the following day, with assistance from the Wan Zin Youth Association.
