U Myo Thant, Union Minister for Construction, received Mr Abhay Thakur, the Ambassador of India to Myanmar, in the reception hall of the Ministry of Construction in Nay Pyi Taw at 2 pm yesterday.
In the meeting, both sides cordially and openly discussed ongoing collaborative efforts to develop the transport sector under friendly relations between Myanmar and India. They exchanged views on enhancing border trade and promoting the smoother flow of goods to boost the socio-economic development of local communities, as well as advancing tourism.
They also discussed topics related to Indian grant aid for road and bridge upgrades, which are crucial for regional development. Additionally, they explored the potential of road infrastructure projects to improve links between the two countries and serve mutual interests.
