The Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) has made four recommendations to the International Labour Organization (ILO), the international community, international businesses, and stakeholders concerning the ILO’s Article 33 decision on Myanmar.
- Ensure that the Article 33 decision does not negatively impact the livelihoods of employers, workers, businesses, and the people of Myanmar.
- Continue collaborating with responsible, legal businesses that respect the law and support the livelihoods of the people of Myanmar, while creating employment opportunities.
- Support employers and workers’ organizations, along with other stakeholders in Myanmar, to enhance compliance with the fundamental provisions of the ILO.
- Maintain and expand communications with employers and employer organizations in Myanmar (e.g., UMFCCI) to promote workers’ rights. Implement processes to improve labor relations and encourage responsible business practices.
In addition to these recommendations, UMFCCI will continue to support its members and employers in close cooperation with local and international organizations. This effort aims to strictly uphold labor rights and improve labor relations in Myanmar, aligning with the recommendations outlined in Article 33 of the Constitution. #UMFCCI #ILO #Article 33 #mtnewsupdate
