The 100th anniversary celebration of Mandalay University is scheduled for this October.
By celebrating Mandalay University’s 100th anniversary, the university will continue to enhance academic fields that contribute to the country’s economic, political, and social development, foster socioeconomic growth based on education, foster creativity and innovation among undergraduate and graduate students, and set out a vision for its next 100 years.
Mandalay University will celebrate its 100th anniversary on 4 July 2025. The university’s main building, which was severely damaged by the recent earthquake in Mandalay, reached its centenary on 22 December 2024.
As Mandalay Intermediate College, Mandalay University was founded on 4 July 1925. In June 1948, it was upgraded from an intermediate college to a university college, which was authorized to offer bachelor’s degree programs in arts and sciences.
