It is preparing to build 4 solar power projects in Myanmar with China’s help.
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the two countries to build the projects, and China will provide nearly one billion in assistance for the projects.
The four solar power projects will be implemented in Yangon Region, Nay Pyi Taw, and Mandalay Region, with a total capacity of 190 megawatts.
Currently, there are four solar power projects under construction in Myanmar: four in Nay Pyi Taw, three in Mandalay Region, one in Bago Region, and one in Shan State, with a total installed capacity of 530 megawatts. Each one natural gas and solar power plant project is being implemented in Mandalay Region and Magway Region, with a total installed capacity of 496 megawatts, according to the relevant ministry.
