Under the G to G system agreed upon in December last year, 100,000 tons of rice will be exported to Bangladesh. Over 50,000 tons have been shipped, and the remaining amount will be fully exported by the first week of February 2025, as stated in the Myanmar Rice Federation’s 2024 annual report released on January 23.
The agreement under the fourth G to G MoU for 100,000 tons of rice between the Directorate General of Food (Ministry of Food) of Bangladesh and the Myanmar Rice Federation regarding the export of high-quality rice (5%) to Bangladesh from Myanmar was signed on December 12th, 2024.
According to the agreement, the Myanmar Rice Federation and 34 member companies are carrying out the rice export operation from Myanmar to Bangladesh. A total of 100,000 tons of rice is being exported from the Yangon and Pathein ports in accordance with the stipulated regulations and guidelines. To date, 50,500 tons of rice have been successfully shipped, and the remaining rice will be fully exported by the first week of February 2025.
