8 May 2024

The press release team of the SAC responded today that the Demean Letter, which was temporarily suspended since May 1, has been re-authorized as normal. The press release team responded to the media’s question about whether or not the news that the temporary suspension of the demand letters for men to work abroad has been re-opened is true and when it will be reopened.

An official from the Myanmar Overseas Employment Agencies Fedration (MOEAF) told MT News that men will be allowed to work abroad by age group. Only men between the ages of 18 and 22 will be sent, and men between the ages of 23 and 31 will continue to be suspended. The ministry did not specifically disclose the reason for such closure, but speculations that it was due to the militia service law spread on social media.
