Shweme Port and Muttama Port Port are designated as temporary ports for trade with neighboring countries

According to the Customs Department, Shweme Port and Muttama Port have been designated as temporary ports in order to carry out international cargo operations. Shweme Port and Muttama Port, built in Shwe Pya Tha Township of Yangon Region, have been approved by the Department of Customs since April 24, 2024 as temporary international cargo ports that can export goods to neighboring countries.

In order to be able to carry out border trade export activities from these ports to neighboring countries, One-Stop-Service (OSS), including the Customs Department, have been assigned and inspected since 24 April, and entrepreneurs can now carry out export activities with neighbouring countries.
