The Myanmar national futsal team rose to 12th place in the world ranking after the AFC Asian Futsal Cup 2024 tournament. In the Asian Cup, Myanmar was eliminated from the group stage. The ranking increased because they were able to play a competitive game against Vietnam and Thailand, which has a higher world ranking than itself.
In the friendly match before the tournament, in the world, Myanmar able to win against teams like Kuwait and Afghanistan , which has a good ranking, is also one of the factors that boosted the rating.
In the latest list released on April 25, the Myanmar team rose from 78th to 66th, and reached 15th to 14th in the Asian rankings.This ranking is a record high for the Myanmar futsal team. It is also reported that the Myanmar Futsal team, which is showing good skills under Thai coach Ban Lak, will continue to prepare for the 2025 SEA Games.
