According to Bago Region Government, ancient historic cultural heritages in Bago Region are being identified for conservation. One of these activities is unearthing the ancient heritages to preserve.
A dig site for an ancient elephant stockade from the Hantharwady era was inspected by the chief minister of Bago Region on 21 April.
When the Chief Minister visited the elephant stockade, he instructed that the ancient teak pillars be preserved in their authentic condition, brick walls around the elephant stockade be unearthed systematically, and a model of the elephant stockade be displayed as per the original audience platform.
As part of his coordination with the Department of Hotels and Tourism, he also guided the development of public tours to this destination.
