Yangon Zoo to remain open throughout Thingyan Festival

During Thingyan, Zoo (Yangon) will be open without any holidays, and it is also planned to allow the people who come to relax to play water festival, according to the administrator of Zoo (Rangoon). The zoo (Yangon) is being organized and opened with the aim of providing people with peace of mind to relax and for students to gain knowledge about plants, birds, and wild animals. Plans will be made so that visitors can have a happy and peaceful time during Thingyan.

“People can visit and relax at the zoo (Yangon) during Thingyan without any holidays. The zoo (Rangoon) will also have a water pavilion and places where water will be available during Thingyan, so visitors will be able to play water festival”, said U Than Myint Tun. Currently, the zoo (Yangon) is open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with more than 1,000 visitors per day, 3,000 to 5,000 visitors on weekends, and more than 5,000 visitors on major holidays.
