It has been reported that the 2025 Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards Ceremony will confer a total of 11 or 12 Academy Excellence Awards.
Traditionally, the Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards include honours for Best Cinematography, Best Film Music, Best Screenplay, Best Film, Best Director, Best Sound, Best Film Editing, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Actress, Best Actor, as well as a Special Award, bringing the total number of awards to 12.
For the 2025 Academy Awards, 72 feature films released in cinemas during the year were initially considered, of which 22 films advanced to the second round of screening and evaluation.
The 2025 Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards Ceremony is scheduled to be held ceremoniously on the evening of February 7 at the MICC-1 Hall in Nay Pyi Taw.
