The information was released on seizures of related accessories used in telecom fraud, online gambling and drug processing in Hsipaw and Mongyai townships in Shan State (North) on 9, 10 and 11 January 2026, and the raids on 10 and 11 January uncovered three major drug production bases.

As a result of the seizures, combined security forces continued their aerial and ground intelligence-gathering and clearing operations. In northern Shan State, suspicious structures used for drug production were discovered about 34 kilometres northwest of Mongyai, 14 kilometres northeast of Narlin village, and 2.5 kilometres north of a significant drug production site that had previously been seized. The security forces seized the items used in drug production such as 3,500 blue containers and 507 steel barrels containing acids (still examining) 243 gas cylinders, two generators, nine tablet-pressing machines, one factory warehouse suspected to be producing Happy Water, 50 tablet-drying trays, 12 huts, seven warehouses storing acid containers, one hut used for drug production equipped with glass condensers, three warehouses, two warehouses storing raw materials for drug production, and two ration warehouses.

A combined team of experts will examine the seized drugs, transfer them to the relevant departments, and destroy them systematically through incineration or demolition. Security measures will be continuously implemented as there may still be other suspicious drug-manufacturing sites in the surrounding area. Those involved in drug cases will also be identified and prosecuted effectively.
