South Korea’s parliament passes bill banning the dog meat trade

The legislation will come into full force in 2027, aims to end the centuries-old practice of humans eating dog meat. Dog meat farmers, butchers and restaurant owners, whose businesses will be forced to close have been promised to fully support by the government. Violators can be jailed for up to 3 years, it is reported.
