MT News
Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) issued a statement No 2/2023 on 28 July, 2023.
MRF will sell the reserved rice which is arranged by other plan and which is collected with the cooperation of export companies into the market as soon as possible to stabilize the rice market and ensure stable price, the statement stated.
Firstly, MRF will sell (25 percent grade- Single Polished & Sorted) 50,000 bags (50 kilograms per bag), and made an effort to increase the sales of rice if necessary.
The MRF will arrange the necessary measures in the private sector to stabilize rice market and price, and to ensure fair pricing for consumers. The Federation will continued to undertake the warehouse registration and inspection.
Myanmar is self-sufficient in rice completely and exports the rice surplus to abroad with systematic calculation. The prices of rice and paddy need to be stable as there is domestic rice security and self-sufficient in rice, more operation time of rice mills due to more supply of electricity, and cultivation of rice in Bago (West) and central part of Myanmar.
Thus, consumers are requested not to worry and not to buy rice with concern, and to buy rice if only necessary due to false news and rumours.
