Opening ceremony of 2611th Buddha Pujaniya Tabaung festival, conveyance of 28 Buddha statues held at Shwedagon Pagoda

The opening ceremony of 2611th Buddha Pujaniya Tabaung festival was held at Shwedagon Pagoda on 24 February.
Firstly, the 28 Buddha statues were conveyed clock-wise on the pagoda’s platform.
Then, Buddha Pujaniya Tabaung festival proceeded at Chanthagyi pavilion. The members of Sangha recited Namasasa three times to open the ceremony of 2611th Buddha Pujaniya Tabaung festival. The region chief minister, Yangon Command commander and attendees took Nine Precepts from Ovadacariya Sayadaw of Shwepyitha Pariyatti Learning Centre of the pagoda board of trustee.
Afterwards, Ovadacarirya Sayadaw, the region chief minister, the commander, members of pagoda board of trustee and guests offered the lights and opened the Buddha Pujaniya Tabaung festival.
120 members of Sangha will recite non-stop Maha Pathana discourse in rotation for ten days from 24 February to 5 March at the Buddha Pujaniya Tabaung festival.
According to the Shwedagon Pagoda Treasure’s Board of Trustees, the rice offering ceremony to Sayadaws and monks from the Ovadacariya monastery and nearby monasteries will be held in the evening of 4th March and the successful completion of Maha Pathana recitation will be held in the morning of 5th March.
