The fair election was successfully conducted, and parliamentary sessions are proceeding as scheduled. A new Union Government, led by the President, will soon be formed, as stated by Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, in his message at the 52nd Mon State Day ceremony.
Today, our country is progressing toward becoming a nation that embraces a democratic system where the values of justice, freedom, and equality thrive. The Acting President emphasized that unity, discipline, respect for the law, and wisdom are essential for all citizens in establishing a democratic society.
Following the guidance of the National Defense and Security Council, the Acting President announced that the 2025 multi-party democratic general election has been successfully held in three phases, paving the way for the democracy that the people desire.
On March 16, 2026, the House of Representatives convened, followed by the convening of the House of Nationalities on March 18, 2026. Parliamentary sessions are currently underway, following the scheduled agenda, which includes the process of electing the President. The Acting President has announced that a new Union Government, led by the newly elected President, will be established in the near future.
