To support the development of the national agricultural sector and enhance international cooperation, a groundbreaking and signing ceremony for the Russian–Myanmar Natural Foliar Fertilizer Factory took place yesterday at Plot No. (1662), Alinlo Village Tract, Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area. This project is being jointly implemented by Russia’s RUMA Organic Company and Aung Than Htike Agriculture Development Company.
The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Union Minister U Maung Maung Tint from the Ministry of the Office of the President (No. 3), Union Minister U Htun Ohn from the Ministry of the Office of the President (No. 4), Union Minister Dr. Wa Wa Maung from the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Union Minister U Hla Moe from the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, and Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than from the Ministry of Industry. Other attendees included the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, U Than Htun Oo, Deputy Ministers, the Myanmar Representative of FUND RC-Investments, Mr. Artemi Alimov, Embassy Counsellor of the Russian Federation in Myanmar, Mr. Andrei Lunak, relevant departmental officials, as well as representatives from RUMA Organic Company and Aung Than Htike Company.
The Union Minister stated that the Acting President places special importance on the foliar spray fertilizer factory project, viewing it as an opportunity to showcase the strong friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Russia. The Minister emphasized the need to prioritize the construction of the factory and complete it within the designated timeframe.
He noted that producing a natural fertilizer foliar spray solution domestically will help lower costs for agricultural entrepreneurs and farmers, while also reducing reliance on foreign currency.
On December 3, officials from Myanmar and Russia discussed the joint project to construct the foliar spray fertilizer factory, which is scheduled to start this December and aims for completion within one year.
