On World Wildlife Day, March 3, 2019, Myanmar’s first international-level elephant museum was grandly inaugurated at Yangon Zoo to protect elephants and raise public awareness.
At the Elephant Museum, visitors can get a close-up look at the habitats and habits of Asian elephants, the behavior of wild elephants in Myanmar, and their history.
Visitors can view rare elephant parts, accessories, ancient elephant bones, fossils, large ivory tusks, a skeleton of a whole elephant, traditional Burmese handicrafts made from elephant parts, and books on elephant conservation techniques.
