A ceremony was held to celebrate the Myanmar national women’s football team’s second-place finish at the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Championship, which took place in Vietnam from August 6 to 19. The event occurred tonight at 7 PM at Novotel Yangon Max.
During the ceremony, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung delivered a congratulatory speech to the team and presented them with an honorary award of eighty thousand US dollars (USD 80,000), granted by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the Chairman of the National Security and Peace Commission, in recognition of their achievement.

Additionally, several contributions were made to the team:
- The Chief Minister of Yangon Region, U Soe Thein, presented Ks 25 million.
- Myanmar Football Federation Chairman U Zaw Zaw and his wife Daw Htay Htay Khine donated Ks 3 million.
- Paing Family Int’l Co Ltd contributed Ks 30 million.
- RGK+ZNA Group donated Ks 20 million.
- MFF Women’s Football Committee Chairman Daw Khin San Pa Kyi also donated Ks 20 million.
- Hanthawaddy United owner U Aung Moe Kyaw contributed Ks 20 million.
- Yadanarbon owner Dr. Sai Sam Htun gave Ks 10 million.
- Shan United owner U Khun Naung Myint Wai donated Ks 10 million.
- MFF Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee Chairman U Win Thaw contributed Ks 10 million.
- National Tower Development Co Ltd donated Ks 10 million.
- Mother Trading Co Ltd also contributed Ks 10 million.
- Poe Poe Trading Co Ltd donated Ks 10 million.
- MNL League Committee Chairman U Zaw Min Thein presented Ks 10 million.
- Yangon City Club owner Dr. Htet Khaing Win contributed Ks 10 million.
- Rakhine United Club owner U Hla Kyaw Win also gave Ks 10 million.
- KPO Company Ltd donated Ks 10 million.
- Ramanya Club owner U Thin Maung Soe contributed Ks 5 million.
- Kachin United Club owner Daw La Fain Nang Pri presented Ks 3 million.
As a result of receiving these awards, the Myanmar National Women’s Team was granted a total of 80,000 United States Dollars (USD 80,000) from the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, as well as 5.23 billion kyats from various contributors.

During the ceremony, Khin Marla Htun, the captain of the Myanmar National Women’s Team, and Win Theingi Htun, the tournament’s top scorer, expressed their gratitude. The event concluded with a group photo.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing awarded the Myanmar women’s national team $30,000 for their victory over arch-rivals Thailand, where they won 2-1 in the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Championship, securing their place in the final. Additionally, he announced before the final match that the team had already received a prize of 2 billion kyats for advancing to the semi-finals.
