The Myanmar Railways, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, has announced that the Naypyidaw-Yangon-Naypyidaw route will start operating on February 28 with new modern DEMU trains purchased from Japan.
To facilitate public travel by train, passenger train services are being organized on the main railway sections such as the Yangon-Mandalay section, the Yangon-Pyay section, the Yangon-Mawlamyine section, and the Yangon Ring Road and Suburbs, as well as other sections such as the Pathein-Hinthada-Kyan khin section, the Pyinmana-Taungdwingyi section, the Yangon-Pyay-Bagan section, the Myitkyina-Moe Kaung section, the Letpadan-Tharawaw section, and the Tharsi-Shwe Nyaung section.
Starting from February 28, the Nay Pyi Taw-Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw route will be operated with new, modern DEMU train cars purchased from Japan.
